Aion 2 New Weekly Reward Cap System and Currency Buff Breakdown
Weekly Reward Cap System Overview
The core idea behind the new system is to split progression into controlled weekly pipelines. This ensures that both PvE and PvP contribute meaningfully to progression, but neither can be abused through unlimited farming.
Abyss Points (AP) Weekly Structure
AP progression is now divided into separate earning paths:
- PvE AP Cap: Up to 200,000 AP per week from monster hunting
- PvP AP Cap: Up to 200,000 AP per week from arenas and open-world PvP
- Total effective weekly AP potential: 400,000 AP if both paths are fully utilized
This separation is important because it prevents players from focusing on only one activity type while still reaching full efficiency.
Seasonal AP Limit
On top of weekly caps, there is a seasonal ceiling:
- Total seasonal AP cap: 2.5 million AP over an 8-week season
This effectively encourages players to pace progression rather than rush everything early in the season. In practice, it also reduces burnout since reaching maximum efficiency does not require nonstop grinding across all weeks.
Abyss Time Restriction
Open-world farming in high-tier PvPvE zones is also time-gated:
- Abyss farming limit: 7 hours per week
This is one of the more direct anti-farming measures. It reduces bot efficiency and ensures that elite farming spots cannot be monopolized by players who simply stay online longer.
Dungeon and Expedition Diminishing Returns
One of the biggest changes is the diminishing reward system for repeated dungeon or expedition runs:
- 0–63 runs: 100% rewards
- 64–77 runs: 80% rewards
- 78–91 runs: 60% rewards
- 92–105 runs: 40% rewards
- 106+ runs: 20% rewards
This system is clearly designed to discourage alt abuse and automated farming loops. The key takeaway is that efficiency drops sharply after the first 63 runs, meaning most players will want to stay within that threshold for optimal returns.
Currency and Economy Buff Adjustments
Alongside weekly caps, the economy has been adjusted through buffs and cost reductions across major systems. The focus is on making Kinah more meaningful while reducing unnecessary friction in progression systems.
Dungeon Ticket System
Players can now directly convert Kinah into convenience:
- Daily dungeon instant completion ticket cost: 30,000 Kinah each
- Weekly cap: 14 tickets per server
This creates a new Kinah sink while also giving players more flexibility in managing time. It’s especially useful for players who cannot run full dungeons daily but still want progression efficiency.
Stigma Transformation Cost Reduction
One of the most significant gold-sink reductions:
- 25% transfer cost reduced from 250,000 Kinah to 50,000 Kinah
- 100% transfer cost reduced from 1,000,000 Kinah to 200,000 Kinah
This change makes experimentation with builds and gear setups far more accessible. Players can now adjust their character progression without feeling punished by excessive costs.
Battle Pass Access via Kinah
Previously tied mainly to premium currency, Battle Pass progression has become more flexible:
- Players can now purchase major portions or full Battle Pass access using Kinah
This is a major shift in monetization structure, effectively allowing dedicated players to convert in-game effort into seasonal progression advantages.
Exploration Mode Reward Scaling
Exploration and idle gameplay have also been improved:
- Exploration rewards increased to roughly 50% of Conquest mode yields
This makes passive gameplay more viable, especially for players who cannot consistently participate in high-intensity content.
Kinah Od Energy Pass System
A new progression pass adds another layer to weekly optimization:
- Cost: 1,000,000 Kinah (uses Od’s Grace)
- Maximum purchases: 3 per server
- Max level: 20
- Post-max rewards: repeating reward boxes up to 3 times per week
This system creates a long-term Kinah sink while offering repeatable rewards for active players who fully engage with progression loops.

Practical Weekly Optimization Checklist
With all these systems combined, efficient weekly play becomes more structured and less grind-dependent. A typical optimized routine looks like this:
- Prioritize 4-player dungeon clears first
Use your weekly entries early to secure core gear progression and upgrade materials. - Max out both AP caps (400,000 total)
Split time between PvE farming and PvP content to fully utilize both reward pipelines. - Complete 12 Command Quests
These provide strong Kinah income through weekly scroll purchases and should not be skipped. - Track the 63-run efficiency threshold
Stay within the full-reward bracket on your main character to avoid steep diminishing returns.
The updated systems in Aion 2 clearly push the game toward structured progression rather than unlimited grinding. Weekly caps, seasonal limits, and diminishing returns all work together to control pacing, while Kinah buffs and new conversion systems soften the restrictions by giving players more meaningful ways to spend earned currency.
From a gameplay standpoint, this shift rewards planning more than raw playtime. Players who understand the caps and optimize their weekly route will progress efficiently, while those who ignore the system will quickly hit diminishing returns.
The result is a more controlled economy and a more predictable progression curve—whether that feels better or worse depends on how much you enjoy open-ended grinding.
