Where to Find It on the Map

Coordinates: Check the bottom-left or southwestern corner of the open-world map.

Main Landmark: Keep an eye out for the massive Irokawa Space Centre—it’s impossible to miss.

Road Layout: Directly north of the space center, you’ll find a dense, snake-like cluster of winding roads filled with tight hairpins. This is the iconic Hakone Nanamagari pass, and it’s exactly where you’ll want to point your car for the Weekly Challenge.

How to Unlock the Race

If the race isn’t showing on your map yet, it usually means you haven’t discovered the road itself. To unlock the event:

1. Progress your Discover Japan Stamps to the Blue/Traveller level.
2. Drive to the winding roads north of the Irokawa Space Centre. Once you hit this area, the race marker should appear automatically.

Exploring these roads on your own also gives you a chance to learn the twists and turns before attempting the Weekly Challenge, which can save precious seconds during timed runs.

Weekly Challenge & Tips

Car Tuning: The challenge specifies the 2022 Toyota GR86. Tune it to B-Class (B600) to maximize performance. Adjust suspension and tire pressure for sharper cornering—this pass is all about precision.

Difficulty Settings: If you’re struggling with tight turns, set the game to Tourist mode. This allows for a more forgiving handling experience while you get a feel for the track.

Bonus Finds: While exploring, you can find a 1971 Nissan Skyline 2000GT-R barn find just west of the route. It’s worth a detour if you’re collecting rare cars.
